I've also listed the main things below, along with the video: The way you use it is mostly the same (eventing is 99% the same commands), but there are a lot of great features/upgrades. So if you want to be able to work on the game with your friends, just zip up the project file as-is and send that to them. In either case, the deployment process doesn't seem to want to remove extra files you've dropped into the project folder, like JSON files produced by the character generator, or random pictures outside of resource folders, so you'd want to remove things like that if you don't want players seeing them.
I think it just does some initial prep-work, and the manual explains how to produce something that'll run directly on mobile devices. I'm pretty sure you need to do more work than just selecting Android/iOS for deployment platform to produce something that will run on those devices. Then you just send the output to other people unlike the above method, people who receive this version won't be able to use their copy of MV to peer at and edit game data. From here you can select the platform you want the game to run on, and in the latest version of MV automatically exclude unused files from the project. The other way is to deploy the project you can access the Deployment options from the File menu. You can zip it up and send that to people, though anyone with the folder will be able to open the project in RPG Maker and tinker with things, which might not be desirable. The simplest way to distribute your project - and the way you'll have to do it if you want other people to be able to work with you on the project - is to simply hand people the project folder index.html in that folder can be used to run the game through an installed internet browser.
